christmas is coming

the tree is ready and everyone is making their way to the manger. which gets rearanged daily!! i am slowly getting things together but still have some shoping to do. my 10 year old is turning out to be hard to shop for. he isn't even sure what he would like! arg!! i am off the the hobby shop and of course the fabric store!!! hope all of you christmas stuff is going well!!!!!

camera

my camera is on the fritz!!! this seems to be a theme around blogland. mine was dropped awhile ago and well has never really worked well since. i just need it to work through Christmas thats all. i am going to pray to the camera gods and try for the Christmas cheer/decoration pictures i was trying for. hopfully i will be back with pictures soon!!!!!

i don't know about the rest of blog land but i am having a hard time getting into christmas mode!
we set up the tree and some other decorating but my head is still in the clouds. i am hoping i can shake this quickly, i am going to try some crafting and see if that helps.

leftovers

i have been enjoying my leftovers all day long!! a little nibble here and there. i did't want to eat enough to get into full on nap mode!! i did get to eat the last of the stuffing which my husband was a little miffed at!!he got over it and then took a nap!!!!
well now we are gearing up for the christmas fun, i am not one to usually go out on black friday but this year i did run into target for a certaim lego item for one of my boys!! i did not go at 4am or some crazy time like that i waited until dinner time when the crowds calm down. he will be a very happy camper come christmas morning!!!!
time to make my list and check it twice!! also need to make the list of supplies for all the craft projects i want to make!!!

not so hot

well the show was a bust!!! i did meet some groovy people and managed to crochet two scarves! it is just very upsetting when the show was all hyped up and then almost everyone there did little to nothing. granted these things can never be predicted but i think i will limit my craft/bizarre participation to handmade functions as much as possible. there happen to be a bunch of wholesale buyers there who could sell cheaply. which makes it difficult to sell quality handmade things at reasonable prices. i did get tons of compliments on my work but still no real sales. oh well enough ranting. !!! enjoy your day!!!!

wip?

Busy Busy! Getting ready for a show. Lots of sewing, I think I made 13 bags in 4 days!! What was I thinking stressing myself out a bit like that!! Well they all turned out very cool!! The kids all got fed and some of the laundry even was done!! So, I feel like I am batting a thousand!!

I am doing a church craft/bizzare that should be a bunch of fun!!!! I went to set up tonight and saw a few people that I have done other shows with and that was nice to see them and see how they were doing.

I plan on doing a shop update after this show tommorrow. So if you see something you like check the shop in the next couple of days.

post halloween

i have been reading about everyones' halloween and all the fun that was had!! we had a great time too!!! my 3 year old filled her bag and then said she was done!! so we headed home and had just as much fun handing out candy as getting it!! looking forward to next year!!

my camera must be having issues!! i was trying to get a photo from halloween and just couldn't so i found another from the week, she is a princess ballerina!!! so cute!! the brothers were with their dad this year. the 10 year old did not trick or treat but the evil swat team guy (the 6 year old) had a blast!!!

halloween fun

My mom has a yearly a Halloween party for her now 15 grandchildren, so this year I decided to make her an apron for the party!! Do you love it?! I made one for myself too!! We all had a blast and the kids were loaded with sugar(go mom!) and of course she made a ton of yummy food!! So after I rolled away from her house I came home and made some treat bags for my kids and one for a swap(note to self go to postoffice!) I made the bags from some towels that I got from the dollar store and added some basic nylon handles!! Now we have bags ready to hold all the loot they are willing to trick or treat for!! I will help hold any almond joys they feel like they can't carry!! Have a fun halloween!!!!

crazy crazy

i was ill again and in the hospital for 4 days but all is well again!! lol!! i finally got to give Weston his bag and his mom liked it a bunch!! i also did a little school craft/bizarre thing that was fun but not very profitable. i met a couple of really nice ladies so the day was fun!!
be back with some crafty stuff soon!!

tote bag fun

today i made this groovy bag for a little guy in our music together class that my daughter and i take!! this was a bunch of fun to make!! i don't usually get to make things for boys to often!! i appliqued his name on it which i think turned out well and also confirmed my desire for an embroidery machine!! lots of twisting and turning with the machine!(lucky i didn't break a needle)

i will be bringing it to class tomorrow for him!! i'm sure both his mom and him will enjoy it!!!

i think i will make some more totes for boys!! i do have 9 nephews and my 2 boys that might like a bag for all their boy stuff!!(legos and cars along with the random stick and rock collections)LOL!!! boys are funny!

feeling great

I LOVE PURSES!!(and tote bags) i am amazed at what i can do in just a few weeks when i sit and do what i really enjoy doing!! and i still managed to feed my kids regular meals!! LOL! enjoy the bag loving!!

OMG!!

could there be anymore? thinking i was done was a bit too premature! i was at the er yesterday until 2am with an unexplained fever! what? well after a cat scan all seems to be where it needs too and nothing was amiss. today i feel good just tired. i am really over all this medical stuff and hope to post some crafty goodness with my next post!! thank you for reading and with your good thoughts!!!

i hope i am done

this past friday i had my other procedure. the one when they sedate you and have you swallow a tube to check from the inside out. well all is well i am just tired and tired of the doctor!!! i meed to take a nap and get back to everything else i need to do!!!

feeling good

well they removed my gallbladder on friday and i cam home on saturday! i feel really good just sore and a bit tired. i do have to go back for a second procedure, should be fun NOT!! have already been told by friends to stop crafting and rest so i unplugged the iron (for now) and will rest for a while. (at least an hour) lol!!! see ya soon

after complaining a bit about being closer to forty than thirty i spent most of monday in the ER. i now have to have my gulbladder removed. this will all happen on friday as in 2 days from now!! so i will really have a relaxed weekend before school starts and as long as i can sew/craft something i will stay some what sain. i am not one to just sit and wait, even at the ER i wasn't sitting still. enough ramble i will post soon!!

closer to forty than thirty

Well, You guessed it. It is my birthday!!! So far so good. My birthday's are for the most part are pretty calm. I guess it is because its the end of summer and everyone is getting ready for back to school and squeezing in that last vaction. In the past years I had one of my sisters get married on the 25th so the rehersal was my birthday and then another baptised her twins. My mom always has a way of making me feel good on my birthday!! If you know my mom you know what I mean!! (cup cake pan)


In the mail yesterday I recieved this goody, I was a runner up in a button counting contest that Liz from be present be here had. I love! it!!! The purse is perfect, I was looking for one that I could use just for me without all the toddler/kid stuff!!! the notebook is so pretty I am not sure what I will jot down in there.





I have also been busy organizing my sewing/dinning room and I think I have it at a good place now. My family can easily sit and eat dinner and I can create better in a less cluttered area.

the cup cake

I made the giant cup cake the other day. I followed the recipe for double chocolate pound cak that came with the pan. (wilton recipe) I was sad to say that I was very disapointed with it. The cake itself looked yummy but it really wasn't chocolaty enough and a bit dry. I plan on trying it again but with a family pound cake recipe. I do think this needs a pound cake or other dense cake in order for the bottom to support the top. I did have fun making this and will post the next try soon. Happy Baking!!!!!

As you can see my daughter didn't care what the cake tasted like! She was just excited to have a giant cup cake!!!

This pan is made by Wilton but Sur la table sells it. I love cupcakes and will be making this later on this evening!! I can't wait!!

Bonus: It even has a recipe for chololate pound cake!! YUMMY!!!

busy busy busy!!!

Among all the billions of things I am trying to do before school starts!! I have been doing a bunch of clean house projects!! Must get done jobs and a few not so urgent ones!LOL!!

Here is what my sewing /dinning room looks like at the moment and my organized button collection!! I figure I will take baby steps and do the little things I can get done in a few hours.

We will see how it goes!!

i have been knee deep in rearanging bed rooms and painting. which all comes along with cleaning all the crap you just rearanged!!! i am getting my kids better situaded in their rooms so i can start to create a better work area for me!! if i am not happy, well no one will be and we can't have that.
i need to take some pictures of what i have been doing too. well i will add that to my to do list!!

tomatos

the festivel was a blast although i was so busy painting faces and talking to people that i forgot to take pictures!! maybe that was the way it was supose to be!

i did get a chance to eat some fried green tomatos!! so very yummy and totally hit the spot!! i think i will try and make some myself along with some squash cake.

i am off today for the tomato festivel here. managed to score a free table for a little face painting for the kids. i am hoping it will go well. luckly the hubby has the day off and can watch the kids. crafting without the little people seems to go much smoother!! i hope to have some pictures later.
